DIY CAESAR GARNISH

Quick Pickled Garnish Making your own pickled Caesar garnish is easier than you think with this simple recipe and summer is the perfect time of year with all the fresh vegetables around. Harvest your  own garden, head to the farmers market or buy local from neighbourhood grocer. Get creative, the options are endless!

Ingredients: 


•A mix of fresh vegetables of your choice. Cucumbers, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, beans, cauliflower. Use your favourites or choose what is in season.


•White Vinegar

•Boiling Water
•Fresh Dill

•Garlic Cloves

•Peppercorns

•Celery Seed

•Salt

You will need glass jars and lids for your quick pickles.

1. Place your pickling veg of choice, 2 garlic cloves, a few sprigs of dill, 1 tsp peppercorn, 1tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar, 1 tsp of celery seed into your clean glass jar. 

2. Fill half the jar with white vinegar. 

3. Top up jar with boiling water.

4. Let cool, put air tight lid on and refrigerate. 


Play around with different vinegars, spices and even add chilis for heat.

You will have ready to eat pickled garnish in 24 hrs. Crunchier vegetables like carrots will need 48hrs. Your quick pickled veggies will last 2-3 weeks in the fridge. Garnish for weeks!!!
